The largest swan: the Eurasian mute swan

  

  • The white milk-like swan is a beautiful bird that lives in reservoirs.  Many species of geese are found.  The largest snails are found in Eurasia.  This swan cannot make a sound so it is called a muted swan.      

  • The swan is a bird of antiquity.  15,000 year old goose fossils have been found.

  •  Eurasian geese are four to five feet long.  The wingspan is 6 to 7 feet.  This swan is the heaviest flying bird.  Although it weighs 15 kg, it can fly easily.
  •  The muted swan is quite white.  Its beak is orange.  It builds a nest in a mound of mud on the shore of the reservoir.  It looks chic with a long and sleek curved neck.  These geese eat mostly vegetation.  Male and female geese live together forever.  He is very precise in supervising the nest.  Cubs become aggressive if at risk.

  •  In Britain it was customary to raise goose.  There were many swans in the British royal family and they were called the Royal Bird.  The swan is a beautiful bird that is bred in many lands.
